Estate Planning

The first question we ask an estate planning client is, “What are your goals, and what do you expect to achieve?” Our clients’ goals often include avoiding probate upon death, providing for a surviving spouse, assuring that assets ultimately are distributed to children or other heirs, making charitable gifts and providing for prudent administration of trust and estate assets. There are usually choices available in reaching these goals, such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney, transfer on death designations, joint ownership and others. We explain these options to our clients and advise them, and we help them achieve their goals.
